K-9 Patrols and Detection
First Line Security’s highly trained Canine (K9) Unit features dogs skilled at detecting narcotics and explosives. The K9 Unit also provides protection patrols.
First Line Security continues to grow the K9 Unit to meet the increasing demand for patrol and detection dogs. Instructed by a former municipal police K9 trainer with over 20 years of experience, First Line Security’s K9 Unit selects dogs based on their personality, skills and willingness to work.
Certification and Training
First Line Security’s K9 Unit is fully certified by the Ministry of Justice, Security Industry Licencing Division, through the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
Trained weekly in a wide array of environments, First Line Security’s dogs can meet the diverse requirements of our clients.
Selected for their personality, intelligence, endurance, sense of smell and strength, First Line Security can deploy the K9 Unit to virtually any premises that are capable of containing highly trained dogs.
Depending on the conditions and scope of work, First Line will select a breed that is primarily recognized for patrol and detection such as German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, and Belgian Malinois’s.
Over the years, the K9 Unit has expanded exponentially and now includes foot patrols for client sites and detection services for explosives, weapons and narcotics. There have been some instances where the K9 Unit was used to control crowd situations.
The combination of First Line Security’s highly trained guards and skilled K9 unit provides a proactive approach to mitigating theft, vandalism and other criminal activity. Our clients can rest assured knowing that their property is protected.
